Aberdeen Centre (traditional Chinese: 時代坊; simplified Chinese: 时代坊; pinyin: Shídàifāng) is a shopping mall in Richmond, British Columbia. It is located in the Golden Village district on Hazelbridge Way, bordered by Cambie Road to the north.
The original Aberdeen Centre was built in 1989. It contained about 50 to 75 stores.
As new Asian malls such as Yaohan Centre and President Plaza opened, it soon became apparent that the original Aberdeen was too small to compete. It was demolished in 2001, and was rebuilt for approximately $130 million.
The current Aberdeen Centre, opened in 2003, is about three times the original mall's size and has around 100 stores.
The new mall's primary anchor store is Daiso, which is the company's first store outside of Asia. There are restaurants on its upper floors. An indoor musical fountain, similar to the one in front of Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas but smaller in scale, was built at the centre of the mall and performs shows every hour.
In 2006, the mall became home to the operations of Fairchild Group's Chinese-language TV and radio operations in Vancouver. Fairchild Radio (CJVB AM1470 and CHKG FM96.1) now has studios on the second floor, while Fairchild TV and Talentvision have their news studios on the third floor.
Vancouver (i/væŋˈkuːvər/ or /vænˈkuːvər/) officially the City of Vancouver, is a coastal seaport city on the mainland of British Columbia, Canada.
The 2011 census recorded 603,502 people in the city, making it the eighth largest Canadian municipality. The Greater Vancouver area of around 2.4 million inhabitants is the third most populous metropolitan area in the country, the second largest city on the United States–Canada border, and the most populous in Western Canada. Vancouver is one of the most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities in Canada; 52% of its residents have a first language other than English. Vancouver is classed as a Beta global city. The City of Vancouver encompasses a land area of about 114 square kilometres, giving it a population density of about 5,249 people per square kilometre (13,590 per square mile). Vancouver is the most densely populated Canadian municipality, and the fourth most densely populated city with over 250,000 residents in North America, behind New York City, San Francisco, and Mexico City.
New Year is the time at which a new calendar year begins and the calendar's year count increments by one. Many cultures celebrate the event in some manner. The New Year of the Gregorian calendar, today mostly in use, falls on 1 January (New Year's Day), as was the case both in the old Roman calendar (at least after about 713 BCE) and in the Julian calendar that succeeded it. The order of months was January to December in the Old Roman calendar during the reign of King Numa Pompilius in about 700 BCE, according to Plutarch and Macrobius, and has been in continuous use since that time. Many countries, such as the Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, the UK, and the United States, mark 1 January as a national holiday.
During the Middle Ages in western Europe, while the Julian calendar was still in use, authorities moved New Year's Day variously, depending upon locale, to one of several other days, among them: 1 March, 25 March, Easter, 1 September, and 25 December. These New Year's Day changes generally reverted to using January 1 before or during the various local adoptions of the Gregorian calendar, beginning in 1582. The change from March 25 – Lady Day, one of the four quarter days – to January 1 took place in Scotland in 1600, before the ascension of James VI of Scotland to the throne of England in 1603 and well before the formation of the Kingdom of Great Britain in 1707. In England and Wales (and in all British dominions, including Britain's American colonies), 1751 began on March 25 and lasted 282 days, and 1752 began on January 1. For more information about the changeover from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar and the effect on the dating of historical events etc., see Old Style and New Style dates.
Chinese New Year is an important Chinese festival celebrated at the turn of the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar. It is also known as the Spring Festival, the literal translation of the modern Chinese name. Celebrations traditionally run from the evening preceding the first day, to the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first calendar month. The first day of the New Year falls on the new moon between 21 January and 20 February. In 2016, the first day of Chinese New Year falls on Monday, 8 February.
The New Year festival is centuries old and gains significance because of several myths and traditions. Traditionally, the festival was a time to honour deities as well as ancestors. Chinese New Year is celebrated in countries and territories with significant Chinese populations, including Mainland China, Hong Kong,Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mauritius, and the Philippines. Chinese New Year is considered a major holiday for the Chinese and has had influence on the lunar new year celebrations of its geographic neighbours.

These are my top five things to do in Aberdeen, Scotland. Aberdeen is the third largest city in Scotland and is found in the North-East of the country. The two things it is most famous are oil and granite. 1) Newburgh Beach - around twenty minutes drive to the North of Aberdeen, Newburgh Beach is a beautiful sandy beach famous for its seal colony, which is found where the River Ythan meets the sea. As well as the seals, Newburgh Beach also has Europes largest sand dune area, and old world war two defences. 2) Dunnotar Castle - to the south of Aberdeen, just outside of Stonehaven, Dunnotar Castle is found on a rocky headland jutting out into the North Sea. It has played a huge role in Scotland's history, particularly during the Jacobite rising of the 18th century. 3) The Old Railway...
Scotland, located in the north of the United Kingdom, is a fascinating and atmospheric land. A land of Celtic myths and legends with green hills, barren highlands, mysterious lakes and mighty castles. In the centre of the capital the impressive Edinburgh Castle crowns the hard basalt cone of an extinct volcano, the historic heart of the nation. The beauty of the dense forests and hills of the Trossachs was made famous by author, Sir Walter Scott, in the nineteenth century. It is the most scenic region in central Scotland and possesses grandiose, wild and romantic scenery. The remote Loch Katrine brings to mind Sir Walter Scott’s poem, The Lady Of The Lake. On the Firth Of Lorne is Kilmartin Glen one of the most important prehistoric regions in Scotland. Here, standing-stone, three metre h...

Aberdeen's combo of glamour and grit is guaranteed to mesmerise anyone, especially in the summer when the sun shines upon Scotland’s ‘Granite City’. Whether you’re looking for an extreme thrill or just time to chill, Aberdeen is suited to all types of city breaks. There’s loads of Aberdeen attractions to choose from, many along the city’s coastline. Head out to sea with a dolphin cruise, and watch out for the majestic mammals rising above the water. Capture amazing snaps of Dunnottar Castle, a ruined fortress on the cliff’s edge near Stonehaven. Wander around the charming old fishing village, Footdee, and eat freshly-caught seafood at the Silver Darling Restaurant. Of course, if you’ve lost your sea legs there are heaps of other things to do in Aberdeen. Admire the famous architecture a...

What to do and what to see in Scotland? Kirkhill Forest is located very close to Dyce airport, North-West of Aberdeen center. It's a great place to enjoy a walk through the woods or a cycle along the multiple trails. The main paths are covered in gravel, which makes it a comfortable and easy walk. If you are planning to leave the main route good boots are recommended. This activity can be done in 2-4 hours depending on the route you choose.

Never has there been an artist to capture the essence of dance with such grace and respect as Colleena Shakti. She has been living in India for the past 15 years, studying Odissi and Rajasthani dance and using these art forms to express it on stage around the world through her own unique dance form called Fusion. Her mind is focused on higher aspirations - transcending the mundane, living beyond the ordinary. It's not the form of the dance that captures the audience when watching Colleena, but her thirst for the divine, and that alone is transformative. Colleena dedicates her life and dance to the power of her "lineage" and guru. But its even beyond that, for it takes passion to stay on a path that has many challenges for an American living in India, and being a foreigner. This inner call...
